Iraq’s core inflation rises to 7.1% in July

Iraq's central bank has announced that the country's core annual inflation rate rose to 7.1% in July compared to 6.4% in June, thanks to higher housing rental prices and an increase in the cost of building materials, Reuters has reported. Deputy Governor Mudher Kasim has attributed the rise in inflation to the slow response by government in addressing Iraq's chronic housing shortage.
