Complex Made Simple

Ithraa goes mobile at Muscat City Centre

Ithraa has launched its first mobile exhibition at Muscat City Centre, showcasing its role in attracting inward investment and increasing Oman’s non-oil exports.

Commenting from the sidelines of the exhibition, His Highness Sayyid Faisal Al Said, Ithraa’s Director General for Marketing and Media said: “Oman has much to offer businesses either located in or thinking of locating in the Gulf: we have excellent transport links, a skilled and diverse workforce, a thriving business environment, expanding industrial estates, free zones, ports and technology park along with excellent support services. Our mobile exhibition will offer the public a snapshot of what we do with regards investment, exports and raising the Sultanate’s competitiveness. The three-day event is being supported by Muscat City Centre. Indeed, we are thrilled to have them back this important national business initiative.”

Ithraa offers a range of services to help international businesses set up in Oman as well as assist current and potential exporters penetrate mature and emerging markets.

“We advise and guide local and international companies through every aspect of locating and doing business in Oman. We are here to promote Oman as the first choice for any overseas business expanding into the Gulf – from start-ups to established international companies,” added Sayyid Faisal.

A lot of work being carried out by Ithraa focuses on networking, attending trade shows, organizing trade missions and arranging B-2-B meetings for local companies.

“We are constantly building links with intermediaries and industry networks. And this work often starts close to home, because most inward investors have established links with the regions they invest in. It is through these various activities, many of which are highlighted at the exhibition, that we promote Oman and attract businesses. Our aims are to build Oman’s international reputation, promote non-oil Omani exports and win investments which create jobs and growth,” he said.

Strategically located at the central atrium of Muscat City Center, the mobile exhibition is part of Ithraa’s national public engagement plan designed to spread awareness of the Authority’s services, activities and people.

Manned by Ithraa staff, visitors will be treated to a tour of Ithraa’s achievements and key initiatives. A series of promotional films on Oman’s various industries will also be played at the exhibition.
