New update fixes security flaws in Apple’s OS X, Safari

Apple Inc. has released updates fixing security flaws in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and the Safari Web browser, PC Magazine has reported. The Lion update fixed 35 bugs, including the FileVault bug that could expose user passwords on the system. The update for Safari 5.1.7 fixed the same four WebKit vulnerabilities which had been fixed earlier this week in iOS 5.1.1. Once the Safari update is installed, however, it checks the version of the Adobe Flash plugin that is installed and disables it if it is out of date.
