Oman reports lowest inflation rate in GCC, Qatar posts highest

The Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-Stat) has said that inflation rate in Qatar is the highest among the GCC countries, the Peninsula has reported. The latest inflation figures for the 12-month period through May 2014 reveal that Qatar topped the list with 3.4%. Kuwait has the second-highest inflation rate in the region, at 2.9%, while it is 2.7% in Saudi Arabia, 2.1% in the UAE, 1.9% in Bahrain, and 1.5% in Oman, the data showed.
