Oman sees government spending up by 9% in 2012

A senior Omani Finance Ministry official has said that the Sultanate is planning to raise government spending by 9% to OR8.9b next year to finance construction projects and create more jobs for nationals, Reuters has reported. The official has added that the government will try to keep the deficit at OR850m in 2012, the same as in 2011 with the expectations of higher total revenue due to a bigger oil production expected next year.
