The QE Index in Doha finished nearly three percent lower at 8,709.77 points on Sunday as the usually stable market failed to resist the regional uncertainty due to the crisis in Egypt. Today's losses almost wiped out the year-to-date gain of over 3%, shrinking to 0.32%. Industrial and insurance shares posted the largest declines. Industries Qatar headed down by 6.31% to close at QR135.10. Dha Insurance plummeted 3.97%, finishing at QR29.00. Al Ahli Bank (up 1.67% at QR61) was the only financial institurion which gained against the downtrend. Earlier in the day Al Ahli Bank announced that its General Assembly Meeting will be held on Wednesday 23 February 2011.
