Qatar spending on World Cup 2022 seen at $170bn

Eminent German legal and financial adviser Dr Nicola Ritter has forecasted Qatar's spending on hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022 will hit $170bn, The Peninsula has reported. Ritter elaborated during a summit of investors held at Munich, that the Gulf Arab state will spend $48bn to build air-conditioned stadiums, while $77bn will be channeled into making facilities to accommodate the flooding crowds of soccer fans and players from all over the world. He has added that the remaining $45bn will be allocated for developing the Lusail city which will come on area of 20 square kilometers located at North East of Doha.
