The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently held a workshop about Unleashing Innovative Skills, Diffusing the Culture of Innovation with the aim of motivating employees to showcase their intellects and assist them to identify and harness them to the benefit of their jobs.
The workshop, which was held at Al Wasl Auditorium at RTA Head Office, was attended by the CEO of the Licensing Agency Ahmed Bahrozyan, Director of Development and Corporate Performance cum Head of the Innovation Team Ms. Shaikha Al Jarman, and a host of managers and more than 200 employees from various RTA sectors and agencies.
The workshop was presented by Ms. Amy-Renee Hovorka, CEO and Founder of Flame Thrower Consulting Pty Ltd cum Member of the Legal Institute, Australia.
“The workshop focused on how to link the series of thoughts with their added value, and how to identify, quantify, generate and promote innovative concepts, along with the mechanism of maintaining and sustaining them. The lecture delivered as part of the workshop referred to the innovation criteria of the Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards; which comprise categories such as Government Entity Sponsoring Creativity, Creative Leader, Innovative Ideas, and Creative Employee, particularly as the RTA clinched the first position in the Government Entity Sponsoring Creativity category,” commented Al Jarman.
“The workshop is held in the context of RTA endeavours to leverage operations and techniques of innovative thinking, roll out innovative ideas of relevance to RTA’s scope of business, explore creative ideas among employees and nurture an environment conducive to unleashing such ideas by rewarding innovators. This drive fits well with the overall integrated strategy for knowledge management oriented towards diffusing the culture of innovation & knowledge rendering it part & parcel of the daily routines of employees. Through these efforts we will be opening new innovative avenues empowering employees to contribute the crème of ideas that can effectively contribute to enhancing the business of the RTA, and enabling it to realize its strategic goals of serving the local community of the Dubai Emirate,” she continued.
“The RTA firmly believes that its human resources rank at the top of its assets, and therefore it is part of RTA duty to commit every effort towards safeguarding and polishing these resources in order to open up the way for them to express their innovative potentials. This will also add to the satisfaction rating of these resources as well as their loyalty and belonging to the RTA; which will definitely result in record productivity rates,” concluded Al Jarman.
