Specialist events agency recruits internationally to meet local demand

d'events, the specialist corporate and commercial event management agency, has added extensive international expertise to its senior management team with the appointment of a new Client Services Director.

The firm says its international recruitment focus is a direct response to regional demand for more sophisticated events capable of competing on a global scale.

“Business competition is intensifying across the Middle East,” explains Lucy d’Abo, Managing Director, d’events.

“Your standard format of exhibition, conference, seminar or gala dinner is no longer enough to cut through the clutter. This has stirred demand for more unique, memorable event marketing that can compete with and surpass international standards.”

Appointed to the role of Client Services Director is UK-born Nicola Holmes. With an extensive portfolio of international high-profile events under her name, d’events is stepping up its effort to transform the local event marketing landscape.

Prior to d’events, Nicola spent six years as an account director with The Works, one of the UK’s leading events and sponsorship agencies. Among her recent global projects Nicola counts sponsorship activation for Philips and the monumental Live Earth concert that brought together a global audience on 7 July 2007 to combat the climate crisis. She also developed the highly successful and ongoing brand profiling event for Europe’s largest brewery, Heineken Thirst. This global DJ competition is the biggest worldwide music event platform ever undertaken by a brand.

Following The Works, Nicola took up a project post with HQ Creative to manage the DIFC Week and other government events in the emirate as well as Qatar. Realising the excellent opportunities to develop the regional event marketing industry, she decided to move her career here more permanently.
