The Land Qatar names Victor E. J. Orth as Managing Director

The Land Real Estate Investment and Development Company (The Land) announced today that its board of directors has named Victor E.J. Orth Jr., MRICS, ASA as the company's new Managing Director to head up the premier developers operations in Qatar.

Orth, 52, brings 27 years real estate experience gained in the US, Europe and the Middle East, and joins The Land from Al Qudra Real Estate (UAE), where he managed a $40bn in real estate development projects as CEO and General Manager.

Previously, Orth served as a Senior Director for Sama Dubai, a division of Dubai Holdings, following Regional Managing Partner positions for Real Estate services throughout Europe with Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“It is a great honor to join The Land’s leadership team and have the opportunity to build on its success. I am excited by the challenge of helping The Land achieve its goal of becoming one of the world’s largest real estate developers,” commented Victor Orth.

“From the first moment I met with The Land’s management & owners, the Top 5 Middle East contracting company Al Rajhi Investment Group, I was immediately impressed with their ambitious regional and international development plans with an emphasis on geographic and market segment diversity with quality,” added Orth.

A respected lecturer, published author, speaker of 4 languages and Keynote Speaker at countless real estate conferences including United Nations and World Bank events, Orth is well qualified to comment on Qatar’s economic success.

“The Land is one of the Middle East’s fastest growing companies, and its rapid growth mirrors the achievements of Qatar under the wise leadership of His Highness the Emir and the government of Qatar. Today, I consider Qatar a serious financial investment alternative to Abu Dhabi and Dubai,” added Orth.

Mr. Said Said, President of The Land Holding, explained that company’s board of directors unanimously selected Orth based on his track record of leading complex real estate organizations, in addition to his strong executive and personal qualities.

“Our search for a new leader to help The Land Qatar sustain its growth has been focused and thorough,” commented Said. “A screening team of board members short listed a number of top notch candidates and we are delighted that our first choice, Victor Orth, has agreed to join The Land and help take the company to the next level.”
