The Ritz-Carlton, Doha appoints new Public Relations Director

Mr. Adrian Hearn, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Lauren Fryer as Director of Public Relations.

Lauren, an Australian national, will oversee the entire PR operations, which includes media relations, community relations and internal and external communications. She will also ensure that the hotel’s overall strategic PR and Marketing plans are strictly in alliance with the company’s core brand standards.

“The city is poised on the brink of becoming one of the world’s foremost business and leisure destinations and I feel privileged to play a part in this development.” says Ms. Fryer.

Lauren obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing with honors from Swinburne University, Australia in 2001. Furtherance to her career, she has received professional trainings in Business Writing, Strategic Value Selling and Planning & Presentation Skills through Rogen from 2003 – 2006.

Lauren’s Sales and Marketing career began with ‘Network TEN’, one of the three leading TV stations in Australia in 1997 as a Senior Sales Executive in Melbourne. After seven years of dynamic service, she made the move to the UK and joined ‘Turner Broadcasting’, part of the ‘Time Warner’ family, where she worked with the event management team and assisted in the launch of CNN.com into Russia and the annual Children’s Christmas Charity event in London. In the same year, Lauren accepted an offer to work for ‘UKTV/BBC’ in the capacity of Public Relations Manager – Internal Communications Department. During her stay, she helped raise public awareness about the BBC Corporate image and their community program through the development and implementation of a program outreach plan.

Lauren returned to Australia in January 2005 and joined ‘Melbourne Magazine’ as National Sales & Marketing Manager. In the same year, she took up appointment with ‘Time Inc. Publishing’, also part of the ‘Time Warner’ family, and worked as Group Sales Manager on publications such as TIME, In Style, Sports Illustrated & Wallpaper magazine. As part of her achievement here, she effectively managed and executed cross-promotional marketing initiatives across TV, radio, magazines, events and online for her clients. After two years, she traveled to the Middle East and joined ITP Publishing in Dubai as Brand Manager on Harpers Bazaar magazine in July 2007, where she effectively managed the regional brand positioning, communications and media strategy for the publication.

Ms. Fryer joined The Ritz-Carlton, Doha in March 2008 where she is conjunction with the Sales and Marketing team are working towards achieving their annual PR and Marketing goals for 2008.
