The Abu Dhabi market index ADXGI closed 1.18 per cent higher at 4,099.80 points on Tuesday, December 17. Waha Capital gained the most, ending up by 14.91 per cent at Dhs1.85. The share price increase was triggered by a rally in the Dutch airport leasing company AerCap Holdings NV surged by a whopping 33 per cent at the market in New York on Monday, after buying International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC) from insurance giant AIG. Waha holds approximately one quarter of AerCap. AIG will receive $3.0 billion from ILFC in cash and 97,560,976 AerCap shares. With the move, AerCap strengthens its position as a global market leader in aircraft leasing.
